Santiago, Chile – In an effort to encourage civic engagement, Alsea – licensed retail operator of Starbucks in Chile – today announced the return of Starbucks Votes – a campaign where a free short-size Coffee of the Day will be offered to community members who confirm they have voted or are on their way to vote in Chile’s constitutional plebiscite. The Starbucks Votes initiative, first launched in Chile in 2017, aims to promote the participation of green apron partners (employees), customers and communities in Chile’s electoral process.
“With our Starbucks Votes campaign, we celebrate citizenship commitment by inviting our community to fulfill their civic duty in the upcoming plebiscite. For five years, Starbucks has led this initiative in Chile, which has consistently seen a positive response from those who participate and enthusiastically exercise their right to vote," said Claudia Aburto, managing director of Starbucks for the Southern Cone.
For the upcoming Chilean constitutional plebiscite, on Sunday, September 4, Starbucks Chile invites all citizens to visit open stores (stores and operating hours at sbux.cl/StarbucksVota) to receive a complimentary short-sized Coffee of the Day per person after confirming they have voted or are on their way to vote. In addition, and aligned with the company’s efforts to be resource-positive, Starbucks Chile will fill reusable cups, mugs or tumblers with a complimentary Coffee of the Day up to 500ml (Venti size) for customers who confirm participation in the constitutional plebiscite.
On Monday, September 5, this promotion will apply to all citizens who fulfilled the role of table members by showing a screenshot of the Chilean electoral service page that proves their participation.
