Lima, Peru – Starbucks Peru today announced that customers in the market can now enjoy Starbucks Reserve™ premium whole bean coffee in in six select stores in Lima. Roasted at Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room in Seattle, the first two premium coffees on offer for a limited time are Starbucks Reserve™ Indonesia West Java and Starbucks Reserve™ Brazil Fazenda Catanduva. Additional Starbucks Reserve™ coffees will be introduced in the coming months on a seasonal basis.
More than 50 years ago, Starbucks began its commitment to make premium arabica coffee accessible to all while fostering a culture of human connection. Starbucks Reserve, first launched in 2010, is where Starbucks pushes its own boundaries of craft, developing a unique roast for each individual lot before experimenting with coffee as an art form.
"At Starbucks, we are deeply rooted in our mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time. The Starbucks Reserve™ premium coffee line embodies our dedication to travel the world in search of the most exceptional coffee beans, and we are thrilled to bring this experience to our customers in Peru," said Cristel Delgado, Operations Manager of Starbucks Peru and Bolivia.
To achieve this, Starbucks has partnered with small family-owned coffee farms, historic estates and pioneering cooperatives, helping farmers and communities improve the health and productivity of their crops and livelihoods.
The following Starbucks Reserve™ coffees will be available through September 7:
- Starbucks Reserve™ Indonesia West Java
Dubbed the “abode of the gods” by locals, the Preanger region of West Java is a very beautiful and incredibly magical place: prolific rains, black volcanic soil and lush rainforest shade trees create the ideal conditions for growing coffee. It is characterized by having a full-bodied earthy and herbal flavor profile, creating the perfect combination with a syrupy and sweet flavor, with notes of Madagascar vanilla, nougat and baking spices.
- Starbucks Reserve™ Brazil Fazenda Catanduva
Smooth, sweet coffee with notes of hazelnut, graham cracker and chocolate fudge create the award-winning result of a commitment to innovative coffee farming through the efforts of industry pioneer Marie Nakao Sasaki. Her approach prioritizes harmony between innovative methods of caring for the earth, compassionate care for workers and communities, and the perpetuity of health and the economy.
