Starbucks Opens First Store in Punta del Este

Located in the heart of the seaside town, café marks the first store in the Maldonado Department and 11th location in Uruguay.

Montevideo – As part of its continued expansion plans in the market, Alsea, Starbucks operating licensee in Uruguay, today announced the opening of its new store in Punta del Este, Maldonado Department. The new café is located at the intersection of Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue and Pedragosa Sierra Avenue and is within walking distance to the popular Brava Beach.

“We are delighted to bring the Starbucks Experience to customers in Punta del Este, expanding our store footprint into eastern Uruguay and the Maldonado Department. Our store designers have created a space that reflects the beauty of this seaside location and the moments of connection that so many of our customers enjoy,” said Soledad Fantuzzi, marketing manager, Starbucks Argentina and Uruguay.

Starbucks stores are designed to reflect the moments of human connection made over a cup of coffee and to reflect the communities they serve. The new store has two bright and airy floors, with stucco and wood finishing, comfortable seating areas, and community table workstations. Spanning the length of both stories is a stunning ocean-inspired mural created exclusively for Starbucks by local artist Nicolas Alfalfa. Outside the café customers can enjoy a terrace with umbrellas and access to a pick-up window to grab beverages and food on-the-go.

Built to accommodate up to 115 customers, every detail of the new store is designed to provide a warm and welcoming experience for customers to enjoy high-quality arabica coffee and handcrafted beverages made by passionate and skilled baristas.

The Punta del Este store also reflects Starbucks aspiration to be a resource-positive company. Customers will find a recycling station and the option to enjoy their favorite beverages via two sustainable options: serveware or reusable cups.

Since Starbucks arrived in Uruguay in 2018, with its first store in Montevideo, the brand remains committed to its Uruguayan customers. This new location marks the 11th store in the market, with over 120 Starbucks Uruguay partners (employees) proudly wearing the green apron nationwide. In partnership with Alsea, Starbucks will continue to expand across the market with upcoming openings in Montevideo.

The new store, located at 20000 Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue, local 20, Punta del Este, Departamento de Maldonado, Uruguay, is open from 07:00 to 22:00.
