Lima, Peru - In an effort to promote sustainable practices and celebrate Earth Day, Starbucks Peru has announced a special initiative for April 21. The brand will give a reusable cup to the first 40 customers in each store nationwide who purchase a Grande Toffee Caramel, Cinnamon Toffee or Mocha in any variant- hot, iced or Frappuccino® Blended Beverage.

Creating change through everyday actions

This campaign highlights Starbucks commitment to reducing the use of single-use plastics and fostering a culture of reuse.

"At Starbucks, we believe that small decisions lead to big changes. That's why this Earth Day, we want to emphasize the importance of reuse, leaving behind single-use plastics. We aim to foster a culture where customers can use their own personal cup in every visit," said Cristel Delgado, brand manager of Starbucks Peru.

Since the 1980s in United States, Starbucks has allowed its customers to use their own reusable or personal cups in exchange for discounts.

As part of the brand’s sustainability goals, Starbucks has set the ambitious target of reducing its waste by 50% by 2030. That's why in 2023, it announced its intention to gradually eliminate disposable cups and promote the use of reusable ones.

Discounts all year round for choosing reusable

In addition to the Earth Day promotion, Starbucks Peru offers a permanent 15% discount on any prepared beverage to customers who bring their own reusable cup, tumbler, thermos, or mug. With this action, the brand seeks to generate day-to-day change and encourage a positive impact.
