One of three new stores in Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes, February 10, 2025 —As part of its continued growth in the market, Starbucks —operated in Mexico by licensed partner Alsea—– is excited to announce the opening of three new stores in the city of Aguascalientes, reaffirming its commitment to the local community, job creation, and the region’s economic development. Strategically located, these new stores aim to elevate the Starbucks Experience, offering convenient, on-the-go options alongside the high-quality coffee and welcoming atmosphere customers know and love.

Recently, two new Drive-Thru stores were inaugurated at Garza Sada (Av. Eugenio Garza Sada No. 100) and Outlet San Marcos (Blvd. Zacatecas Norte 6506), allowing customers to pick up their orders without leaving their vehicles. Additionally, a third store, in Starbucks classic café format, has opened at Altaria II (Blvd. A Zacatecas No. 849), providing a cozy environment for customers to relax, connect and enjoy their favorite beverages.

With these new openings, Starbucks expands its presence in Aguascalientes to a total of 12 stores, reinforcing its role as a key gathering spot for coffee lovers. Each of these locations is designed to serve as a "Third Place", providing a space for connection and enjoyment outside of home and work.

Furthermore, as part of its commitment to supporting the communities it serves, more than 90% of the furniture used in these new stores has been manufactured in Mexico. This effort not only contributes to the growth of the national economy but also reflects Starbucks mission to promote local talent and resources.

With these three new openings, Starbucks now has a total of 188 partners (employees) in Aguascalientes, who play a key role in delivering the unique service and experience that define the brand.

“The opening of these new stores not only provides an opportunity to bring Starbucks coffee and unique experiences to more people, but it also generates jobs and promotes local economic development. With each new store, Starbucks reinforces its purpose of being more than just a coffee shop—a place where human connections and coffee come together to create unforgettable moments,” added Francisco Tosso.

An 18-Year Legacy in Aguascalientes

Since opening its first store in 2007, Starbucks has maintained steady growth in Aguascalientes. In 2024, the brand inaugurated the Santa Mónica store, notable for its mural titled Oasis, created by Michoacán-based muralist Queztal. This artwork represents a magical universe inhabited by a nymph who protects coffee, blending art with the coffee culture that defines Starbucks.

Additionally, Starbucks presence in Aguascalientes includes various store formats tailored to different community needs. The neighborhood store format includes the Colosio location, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Santa Mónica also features a Drive-Thru experience. In shopping centers, the Altaria store serves customers, while smaller plazas host locations in Plaza Las Palmas, Terracota, and Plaza San Rafael. Lastly, avenue stores such as Asunción, City Express, and Carretera Aguascalientes-Zacatecas provide convenient access for commuters.

Starbucks has also carried out various volunteer activities in Aguascalientes involving both partners and customers. These initiatives include cleaning public spaces, planting trees to contribute to environmental sustainability, and cleaning dog shelters to improve animal welfare. Additionally, community engagement activities with children have been organized, fostering social interaction and community development. These efforts reflect Starbucks commitment to making a positive impact on the local community.
