This Holiday Season, Starbucks Uplifts Families from Paurito, Bolivia
- This year, The Starbucks Foundation donated $10,000 to the Food Bank of Bolivia to support vulnerable families.
- The brand invites customers to support 50 families from the Paurito community by donating non-perishable food items at Starbucks Ventura until December 20th.
Santa Cruz, Bolivia – This season, Starbucks— operated in Bolivia by Delosur S.A., a subsidiary of Delosi — extends its commitment to the community through a special initiative aimed at supporting the families from Paurito, a village located just 30 minutes from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, which has faced significant challenges, including wildfires and the limited access to essential resources.
A Donation for a Better Future
As part of this initiative, Starbucks Bolivia announced that The Starbucks Foundation, through its Global Community Impact Grants (GCIG) Program —designed to address locally relevant causes—, has donated $10,000 to the Food Bank of Bolivia. This support will enable the distribution of food baskets to 50 families, benefiting approximately 250 people in vulnerable situations from children to seniors, with particular focus on promoting nutrition for children’s health and well-being. The Food Bank sources quality products from markets, businesses, and farmers to ensure they reach those in greatest need.
“This project goes beyond material aid; it’s an opportunity to empower the Paurito community, helping to strengthen its social fabric and food security. For the first time, our partners (employees) will have the chance to actively participate as volunteers in food distribution. We invite all our customers to join this cause and be part of the solution,” commented Cristel Delgado, Brand Manager of Starbucks Bolivia.
Share the Joy of the Season
As part of its Global Season of Cheer —a time dedicated to spreading joy and kindness—, Starbucks Bolivia invites everyone to join this movement of generosity. Throughout this month, customers can make non-perishable food donations until December 20th at the collection center located at Starbucks Ventura, on the Fourth Ring Road and Av. San Martín, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The Food Bank of Bolivia, together with Starbucks volunteers, will help to distribute food and clients donations to families from Paurito. Every small gesture counts and adds to this cause!
Enjoy the Flavor of the Season
To make these moments even more special, Starbucks celebrates with a variety of seasonal beverages. This year, highly anticipated options like Starbucks® Hazelnut Caramel, Starbucks® Red Velvet, Starbucks® Cranberry White Mocha, and Starbucks® Cinnamon Toffee White Mocha will be available to enjoy anytime with friends and family. With flavors like smooth hazelnut and caramel or the festive mix of cranberry and white chocolate, every sip is an opportunity to savor the season while sharing together.
This December, Starbucks invites customers to join a movement of solidarity and support while enjoying seasonal beverages.
By contributing to the cause, customers help make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in Paurito. Together, we can create a lasting impact!
Supporting Hunger Relief Across Borders
Starbucks is committed to giving more than it takes from the planet and contributing positively to the communities it serves. Through initiatives focused on reducing food waste, donating nutritious unsold food, investing in food rescue infrastructure globally, and supporting long-term improvements in food security, Starbucks continues to make a meaningful impact.
Starbucks hunger relief efforts would not be possible without the support of its partners, customers, and local communities. Together, they continue to drive positive change across regions. Since the launch of The Starbucks Foundation’s Global Community Impact Grants program in 2022, over $10 million has been awarded to more than 150 nonprofits across 60 markets, supporting hunger relief and other causes. In addition, Starbucks supports partner volunteering, and disaster relief efforts to help reach families in need.
