Starbucks launches Starbucks® Rewards, its loyalty program, in El Salvador

San Salvador, El Salvador - Starbucks – operated by Premium Restaurants of America in El Salvador – today announced the introduction of Starbucks® Rewards which will be available for Salvadorian customers starting May 30, 2024. This new feature builds on Starbucks commitment to elevate the digital customer experience in the market, and across the region.

Starbucks® Rewards is the company’s loyalty program developed to enhance its digital relationships with its customers, rewarding them in a more personalized and convenient way. Starbucks® Rewards is a purchase-based program, offering members Stars based on the amount they spend on eligible purchases. Once a customer has created an account, they will start earning Stars with a variety of payment methods, including Starbucks Digital Card, credit card, debit card or cash.

"The launch of Starbucks Rewards is a priority for our market, as it will allow us to connect even more with our customers by personalizing their experience in an accessible and quick way," said Sofia Flores, Country Manager of Starbucks El Salvador.

All Starbucks® Rewards members will earn Stars from the day they join the loyalty program, bringing immediate value to Salvadorian customers. Members can earn one (1) Star for every dollar spent in-store and redeem them for benefits such as their favorite drink or meal.

Starbucks® Rewards offers two tiers: The Green level will have benefits such as a free beverage for every 150 Stars accumulated, a complimentary birthday drink and a free Americano coffee with the purchase of whole bean coffee, among others. By accumulating 200 Stars, users are upgraded to the Gold level, and will receive Green level benefits along with additional perks such as the second bean option for free, complimentary refills of Starbucks® coffee of the day, and much more.

Through this introduction, Salvadorian customers will enjoy new benefits such as placing and paying for their order in advance through the app to pick it up at any Starbucks without waiting in line. Additionally, a prepaid card (called Starbucks® Card) will allow them to earn double Stars for every dollar when they reload and pay with it.

To become a Starbucks® Rewards member customers will need to follow simple steps: download the app, create an account, and they’re in. The Starbucks® Rewards loyalty program will be available on the Play Store and iOS Store, on Android and iOS devices.
