Starbucks Celebrates International Coffee and International Music Day across South Cone Markets

  • On October 1 – in celebration of International Coffee Day and International Day of Music – a special “Coffee & Music Day” set will be hosted from designated flagship stores in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay, allowing customers to enjoy a coffee-themed musical experience and share it on social networks. By participating, customers will receive a free coffee.
  • From September 30 to October 6, customers can also enjoy special discounts, coffee tastings and reusable gift cups with an International Coffee Day theme.

South Cone - Over the years, Starbucks has been more than a place to enjoy high-quality coffee; it has been a space where music has been part of the customer experience. From curating playlists to releasing artists' albums in its stores, music has played a key role in building the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that characterizes the Starbucks Experience.

In celebration of International Coffee Day and International Music Day (both on October 1), Starbucks South Cone – operated by licensed business partner Alsea – will host coffee-themed music sessions at select stores across Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. With this double celebration, Starbucks will pay tribute not only to the company’s legacy as a leader in coffee culture, but also to its close relationship with music, creating a multi-sensory experience for its customers.

On October 1, starting at 4:00 p.m., in its flagship stores in Argentina (Shopping Abasto Store (Avenida Corrientes 3247)); Chile (Mall Plaza Egaña Store (Av. Larraín 5862 local A-1004-1008 La Reina)); and Uruguay (Montevideo Shopping (Av. Dr . Luis Alberto de Herrera 1290)), customers will enjoy the exclusive “Coffee & Music Day” set, which will include a guitar, microphone, lighting and a cell phone holder. This set invites lovers of coffee and music culture to improvise a song that mentions the word "coffee" or the name of their favorite Starbucks drink. Participants will be able to record their performance and share it on social networks, tagging the @Starbucks account specific to their market. By doing so, they will receive a free drink as a reward.

“Music and coffee are not only artistic expressions, but also vehicles of connection between people. Celebrating International Coffee and Music Day invites everyone to enjoy the cultural richness that unites us, where every voice and every cup counts,” said Soledad Fantuzzi, Starbucks marketing manager of Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

To continue celebrating International Coffee Day, from September 30 to October 6, all sizes of Latte, Cappuccino, Americano and Coffee of the Day (in hot and cold versions) will have a 30% discount, while the Espresso Choice will be free in all markets. In addition, Starbucks and its commitment to sustainability is made tangible these days with the additional 15% discount by carrying the drink in a reusable mug or personal tumbler.

Additionally, on October 1, Starbucks Rewards members in Argentina and Chile will receive a free reusable cup with the purchase of a large-sized drink. In Uruguay and Paraguay, all customers who buy their favorite drink in a large size will also receive a reusable cup as a gift.

To conclude the celebration, on International Coffee Day, partners will host coffee tastings featuring our Kenya blend in all participating stores at 3 p.m. We are waiting for you to celebrate together!
