Starbucks Bolsters Growth in Southern Chile with First Store in Valdivia
Located at Mall Paseo Valdivia, the store opening underscores Starbucks Chile's commitment to job creation, economic growth, and expansion across Chile’s Los Ríos region.
Valdivia, Chile – As part of its market expansion plans, Starbucks Chile, operated by authorized local business partner Alsea, announced the arrival of its first store in Valdivia, a tourist destination located at the confluence of the Calle-Calle, Valdivia, and Cau-Cau rivers. The new location invites consumers to enjoy Starbucks favorites, hot and cold coffee beverages, as well as a wide selection of sandwiches and desserts.
"We are delighted to bring the Starbucks Experience to consumers in Valdivia, expanding our presence in southern Chile. Our store designers have created a space that highlights must-see places in the region, such as Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve, the Botanical Garden and nearby volcanoes, fostering moments of connection around coffee that so many of our customers enjoy," said Claudia Aburto, director of Starbucks South Cone.
Starbucks designs its stores to enhance the human connection made over a cup of coffee and to reflect the local community. The new Starbucks store in Valdivia offers a unique experience with a mural by a local artist that fuses art and nature, capturing the native flora and fauna of the Los Ríos region. Customers will feel like they are walking through forests and rivers while enjoying their coffee, creating an authentic Valdivia experience.
Since Starbucks arrived in Chile in 2003 with its first store in Santiago, the company has remained committed to its Chilean customers. The new Valdivia location marks Starbucks Chile’s 166th store with over 2,000 dedicated Starbucks Chile partners (employees) proudly wearing the green apron throughout the market. The Valdivia store will also contribute to the local economy by creating job opportunities for 15 future Starbucks Chile partners.
