Starbucks Accelerates Growth in Southern Chile; Opens First Store in Osorno

Located at Mall Portal Osorno, the store unveiling underscores Starbucks Chile's commitment to job creation, economic growth, and expansion across Chile’s Los Lagos region.

Osorno, Chile - As part of its continued market expansion plans, Starbucks Chile - operated by authorized commercial partner Alsea - announced the arrival of its first store in Osorno, a thriving tourist destination amidst the picturesque landscape of southern Chile, which beckons with its majestic volcanoes, serene lakes and rivers. The new location invites consumers to enjoy Starbucks favorites such as the Cookies & Cream Frappuccino® Blended Beverage, decadent flavored lattes, hot and cold coffee beverages, and a wide selection of sandwiches and desserts.

"We are delighted to bring Starbucks Experience to consumers in Osorno, expanding our presence in southern Chile. Our store designers have created a space that highlights must-see places in the region, such as the Osorno volcano and Lake Llanquihue, thus delivering moments of connection around coffee that so many of our customers enjoy," said Claudia Aburto, director of Starbucks South America.

Around the world, Starbucks designs its stores environment to cultivate meaningful human connections, celebrating the rich tapestry of international communities it serves, all centered around the simple pleasure of sharing a cup of coffee. 

The new Osorno store, draws inspiration from the city’s rich history, and boasts  a unique interior design. Notably, the upper wall features motifs such as  a kingfisherand Maitén leaves typical of the area, adding a local touch. Connecting these elements are white and light blue lines reminiscent of the winds that sweep across Osorno's fields, subtly bringing the vibrancy of the outdoors into the store's ambiance.

This space was designed to serve  as a Third Place for customers, providing a warm and welcoming meeting place where everyone can enjoy high-quality Arabica coffee from Latin America and around the world, handcrafted by passionate baristas.

Since entering Chile in 2003, with its first store in Santiago, Starbucks maintains its commitment to Chilean consumers and the communities it serves. The new Osorno location marks store number 163 in Chile, joining over 2,000 dedicated Starbucks Chile partners (employees) who proudly wear the green apron throughout the market. The Osorno store will also contribute to the local economy by creating job opportunities  for 14 futureStarbucks Chile partners.

The new store, located at Plazuela Yungay 609, local 2091, Osorno (Mall Portal Osorno), will be open from 9:30 a.m. until closing time at 8:30 p.m.
