How Starbucks is Supporting Communities Affected by Wildfires in Chile
In response to catastrophic damage from wildfires burning in the Valparaíso region of Chile, The Starbucks Foundation has committed to donating $50,000 to nonprofit organizations in support of impacted communities and relief efforts.
The Starbucks Foundation’s donations will support the following organizations:
- World Central Kitchen to support immediate food relief to communities through distribution of meals and water.
- Desafío Levantemos Chile to support relief and recovery efforts.
Alsea, which owns and operates Starbucks locations in Chile, is also supporting relief efforts via in-kind donations of food and water.
Recovery efforts for these communities will take time, and we are working closely with Alsea to monitor the situation to support our green apron partners and the communities we serve in Chile.
