To scale the initiative, The Starbucks Foundation is inviting partner companies (licensees) which operate the Starbucks brand across its three international regions \u2013 Asia Pacific; Europe, Middle East &amp; Africa; and Latin America &amp; the Caribbean \u2013 to nominate local nonprofit organizations for grants. These grants are intended to fund programs that create meaningful local or regional impact and expands on the company\u2019s people positive ambition to enhance the well-being of all who connect with Starbucks.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the inaugural round of grants, which will be awarded this April as part of Starbucks 12th annual Global Month of Good, the company\u2019s international licensees nominated over\u00a080 local nonprofit organizations\u00a0from more than\u00a040 markets. Grants will be awarded for causes aligned to The\u00a0Starbucks Foundation\u2019s community impact goals, including youth empowerment, inclusion &amp; diversity, social services, hunger relief,\u00a0economic opportunity,\u00a0and coffee-, tea- and cocoa-growing communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bAs part of the initiative, licensees were\u00a0encouraged to co-invest with The Starbucks Foundation and leverage other resources, including providing in-kind donations and encouraging Starbucks partners (employees) to volunteer, for\u00a0greater impact:<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Latin America &amp; the Caribbean<\/strong>: Alsea Foundation\u00a0will provide additional funding for grants to support\u00a0youth opportunities and to fight hunger, building on seven years of partnership with The\u00a0Starbucks Foundation, reaching vulnerable youth across Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Uruguay this year.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Europe, Middle East &amp; Africa<\/strong>: AmRest is providing additional funding through its Doing Good\u00a0program, elevating the local partnerships that our store partners have\u00a0been supporting in their communities across eight markets.<\/li><li><strong>Asia Pacific<\/strong>: PT Sari Coffee Indonesia will mobilize over 500 Starbucks\u00a0partners across Indonesia to volunteer as mentors and coaches for more than 1,000\u00a0youth through an experiential entrepreneurship curriculum.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn every market we serve, Starbucks partners are making a positive impact in their local communities.
