    Mexico City, Mexico<\/strong> \u2013 Starbucks Mexico, operated by Alsea, today announced the launch of the 12th edition of \u201cTodos Sembramos Caf\u00e9,\u201d an initiative that this year aims to donate more than 800,000 rust-resistant coffee plants across Chiapas, Puebla and Veracruz, while continuing to strengthen resilience and long-term future of coffee-growing communities in Mexico.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    Since its launch in 2014, the program has contributed more than 6.4 million plants to coffee-growing regions across the market and has benefited more than 20,000 producers.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    \u201cTwelve years ago, \u2018Todos Sembramos Caf\u00e9\u2019 was born as a response to the challenges facing coffee-growing communities. Today, the initiative continues evolving to help strengthen the future of coffee through innovation, collaboration and long-term support to Mexican communities behind every cup\u201d <\/em>said Sarai Jim\u00e9nez, director of brand building and reputation at Starbucks Mexico.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    This year, 60% of the donated plants will be coffee varieties developed by Starbucks \u2013 including San Isidro and Victoria \u2013 recognized for their productivity and adaptability to evolving climate conditions. This reflects the program\u2019s continued evolution toward long-term agricultural solutions that support the resilience of coffee-growing communities.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n\n

    An Initiative That Has Evolved Alongside Mexico\u2019s Coffee Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    Over the years, \u201dTodos Sembramos Caf\u00e9\u201d has evolved beyond coffee plant donations. Through the Starbucks Farmer Support Center in San Crist\u00f3bal de las Casas, Chiapas, the company’s agronomists work alongside coffee-growing communities to share knowledge, technical assistance and sustainable farming practices that help improve coffee quality and strengthen long-term resilience.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    Today, up to 90% of the coffee used by Starbucks Mexico in its espresso beverages is sourced from Mexico, a relationship that directly connects the brand to the development and sustainability of the market’s coffee-growing regions.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    The impact of the program is also reflected in stories like that of Edilbertha Noriega, a coffee grower from the mountains of Veracruz, who participates in the initiative alongside her family.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    \u201cI inherited this land from my parents, who, like me, worked it their entire lives. Now I share it with my husband and children, who are learning to care for it as they did. Since the Starbucks Farmer Support Center approached us and included us in \u2018Todos Sembramos Caf\u00e9,\u2019 our harvest has improved significantly, and the support we receive helps ensure we are not left empty-handed if a pest outbreak occurs<\/em>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    How to Participate: Purpose-Driven Products Supporting Agricultural Renewal<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    From May 25 to July 5, customers can support this 2026 edition through participating product purchases and direct donations in Starbucks coffeehouses across Mexico and through Starbucks\u00ae Rewards. Sales will help support the delivery of coffee plants to coffee-growing communities across Mexico.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

    Participating products include Starbucks\u00ae Discovery Series<\/em> mugs in 2\u2011ounce and 14\u2011ounce formats, as well as half\u2011pound bags of Starbucks\u00ae<\/em> whole bean coffees, including Starbucks\u00ae Single\u2011Origin Mexico Chiapas<\/em>, Starbucks\u00ae Pike Place\u00ae Roast<\/em>, Starbucks\u00ae Caff\u00e8 Verona\u00ae<\/em>, Starbucks\u00ae Espresso Roast<\/em>, Starbucks\u00ae Sumatra<\/em>, Starbucks\u00ae Kenya<\/em>, and Starbucks\u00ae Colombia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n
