      Starbucks Mexico, operated locally by Alsea, is launching the 11th edition of \u201cTodos Sembramos Caf\u00e9\u201d, one of its most emblematic programs. Since its inception in 2014, the initiative has transformed the lives of more than 20,000 coffee farmers in Mexico, through crop renovation, technical support, training and access to sustainable farming practices that strengthen communities.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      This year, \u201cTodos Sembramos Caf\u00e9\u201d aims to raise funds to donate 815,000 rust\u2013resistant \u00a0coffee plants to coffee-growing communities in Chiapas, Veracruz, and Puebla \u2014 three states that together account for more than 75% of Mexico\u2019s total coffee production.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      \u201cIn 2025, we\u2019re celebrating how \u2018Todos Sembramos Caf\u00e9\u2019 has grown from an emergency response to coffee rust into a movement for long-term transformation,\u201d <\/em>said Sarai Jim\u00e9nez, director of Reputation and ESG at Starbucks M\u00e9xico. \u201cThrough this cause, we generate long-lasting social impact \u2014 building rural resilience and improving productivity for coffee – farming families.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n\n

      Impact beyond plant donations<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      Over the past 11 years, Starbucks Mexico has donated more than 4.8 million coffee plants through the program and expects to reach a total of 5.6 million total plants donated in 2025.<\/strong> But the impact of the initiative goes well beyond plant distribution.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      In collaboration with the Starbucks Farmer Support Center in Chiapas, the initiative has introduced regenerative agricultural practices, installed weather stations to support informed farming decisions, and eco-friendly mills that reduce water use by up to 90% during wet processing.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      Partners such as Fundaci\u00f3n Alsea and the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma Chapingo have supported this effort with innovations in soil analysis, technical training, and access to healthcare services for women coffee farmers and their families. Each phase of the program has been co-created with empathy, respect, and deep listening to the realities of life in the field.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n\n

      How to participate and support the initiative?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      From June 23 to August 4, for every bag of whole bean coffee purchased in-store or via digital platforms, Starbucks Mexico will donate one rust-resistant coffee plant. Customers can also contribute a voluntary donation of $10 MXN at checkout or through Starbucks Rewards\u00ae app.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n

      Participating coffees include Starbucks\u00ae Chiapas, Espresso Roast, Verona, Sumatra, Pike Place, Kenya, and Colombia – all crafted from high-quality, ethically sourced arabica beans.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n
