Practices M\u00e1s Productivas Project\u201d \u2013 a commitment to sustainability and the future of coffee cultivation.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bogot\u00e1, Colombia \u2013 <\/strong>The Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), in collaboration with Starbucks Coffee Company, has successfully concluded the Fincas C.A.F.E. Practices M\u00e1s Productivas project. First <a href=\"https:\/\/historias.starbucks.com\/en-es\/press\/2020\/starbucks-and-the-colombian-coffee-growers-federation-donate-23-million-coffee-seedlings-to-thousands-of-coffee-growers-across-colombia\/\">announced in November 2020<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/historias.starbucks.com\/en-es\/press\/2022\/starbucks-and-the-colombian-coffee-growers-federation-strengthen-partnership\/\">expanded in April 2022<\/a>, this initiative funded the distribution of 55.7 million coffee seedlings of rust- and coffee berry disease-resistant varieties, significantly contributing to the renovation of Colombian coffee plots with a total Starbucks investment of USD 7.2 million over a four-year period.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fincas C.A.F.E. Practices M\u00e1s Productivas project has benefited over 17,000 coffee growers across 17 departments, supporting the renewal of 7,200 hectares of resistant coffee varieties nationwide and helping increase the productivity and profitability of their farms. This effort represents a lasting legacy of sustainability and climate resilience, ensuring benefits for generations to come.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stories.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2024\/11\/IMG_20221014_132931-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22785\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Germ\u00e1n Baham\u00f3n, General Manager of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation, emphasized that this joint project has enabled coffee growers in 17 departments to enhance the sustainability of their farms with resistant varieties. This project element proved itself especially valuable and critical from 2022 onwards when fertilizer prices soared globally due to geo-political developments.
