This initiative allocates a percentage of the sales from its whole bean coffee to support local coffee-growing communities that are constantly addressing climate challenges.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Together for Coffee&#8221;was initially launched as a pilot program in 2022 by Starbucks Colombia and the Starbucks Farmer Support Center in Manizales. In the first year, 1,500 native trees were donated to coffee growers in Nari\u00f1o. In June 2023, an additional 2,000 trees were collected for growers in Santander following severe drought in the region.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year, Starbucks Colombia aims to donate over 2,000 native trees to Huila&#8217;s coffee growers through contributions from customers and partners (employees). The native trees offer necessary shade to coffee plants, reducing crop temperatures and ensuring higher grain quality and profitability.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;The return of the &#8216;Together for Coffee&#8217; program underscores our commitment to Colombian coffee growers and strengthens our resolve to address climate challenges while securing a prosperous future for the local coffee industry,&#8221; <\/em>said Soledad Fantuzzi, Starbucks marketing director.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From June 27 to August 27, customers can visit Starbucks stores in Colombia to support this initiative where for every bag of Colombian whole bean coffee purchased at select market stores and through Didi Food and Rappi delivery platforms, Starbucks Colombia will donate $1,000 COP to purchase native trees to mitigate climate impact on coffee plants. The total donation will be matched by the Farmer Support Center in Manizales.\u00a0 Coffee blends included in the campaign are Starbucks\u00ae Colombia, Starbucks\u00ae Espresso Roast, and Starbucks\u00ae Colombia Nari\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With over five decades of sourcing, roasting, and selling Colombian coffee worldwide, and with a Farmer Support Center located in Manizales, Starbucks is dedicated to collaborating with Colombian coffee growers to support their well-being, their families, and their communities, while ensuring a sustainable supply of high-quality coffee.
