This April 19, and while supplies last, with the purchase of a hot beverage, an iced beverage or Frappuccino\u00ae Blended Beverage in the Grande or Venti size, customers will receive a complimentary reusable cup. The cups are suitable for both hot or cold beverages, and customers are limited to five complimentary cups per purchase.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its foundation, Starbucks has continued to implement different technologies, innovation processes and actions to reduce the waste associated with its business and promote the efficient use of resources. This led to a firm conviction to promote the reusable cup.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To further encourage the use of these types of reusable cups, the brand opted for designs and colors that have become part of the daily experience of people who visit its stores or purchase its products virtually.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not only that, Starbucks also carries out actions that motivate its use: those who purchase a cup or thermos in the stores receive a complimentary drink. Additionally, people who order their drink in these cups get a discount of $8 pesos, which also applies to those who prefer to use a service cup.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Starbucks commitment to the planet<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starbucks Mexico has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and enhancing water efficiency by 50% in its direct operations and coffee production by 2030. It has also committed to decrease the amount of waste from stores and production centers that is sent to landfills.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other actions taken by the brand at a global level include the elimination of single-use plastic straws, which were removed from the condiment bar in 2020, replacing them with a specially designed lid for cold beverages. Starbucks Mexico now provides biodegradable straws only upon request. Additionally, all sleeves, napkins and bags used in stores are manufactured from 100% recycled materials.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since last year, all new Starbucks stores in Mexico are built under Starbucks Greener Stores framework, first introduced in 2018. A Greener Store must meet 25 standards across eight environmental impact areas, including energy efficiency, water management, and waste diversion, as verified by an external auditor. These criteria were developed in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund and SCS Global Services.
