first-in-market Greener Store certifications. By the end of 2023 and going forward, Starbucks will build all new stores in LAC under the Greener Stores framework.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, Starbucks announced the continued expansion of its Greener Stores program across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) with 52 new Greener Stores certified across 12 markets, including the region\u2019s first drive-thru Greener Store in Mexico City.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means 13 markets across LAC have certified Greener Stores \u2013 Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and <a href=\"https:\/\/historias.starbucks.com\/en-es\/press\/2022\/starbucks-first-greener-store-in-latin-america-certified-in-chile\/\">Chile<\/a>, which had the region\u2019s first certified Greener Store.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"875\" height=\"587\" src=\"https:\/\/stories.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/Header-Image_LAC-Greener-Stores-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/Header-Image_LAC-Greener-Stores-2.jpg 875w, https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/Header-Image_LAC-Greener-Stores-2-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/Header-Image_LAC-Greener-Stores-2-768x515.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 875px) 100vw, 875px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt Starbucks, we have always looked for ways to help protect our planet, and through our open-source Starbucks Greener Stores Framework, we have created a benchmark in environmentally responsible retail for design, construction and operation,\u201d said Tom Ferguson, president, Latin America and the Caribbean at Starbucks. \u201cWith our new Greener Stores in the region, we are not only reducing our environmental impact, but also driving innovation at scale to ensure a sustainable future for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starbucks Greener Stores Framework, co-developed with the World Wildlife Fund, includes a set of 25 performance-based standards across environmental impact areas such as energy efficiency, water stewardship, and waste diversion. Each Greener Store has a different combination of sustainable features that help it receive its third-party verification. Some stores have obvious elements like solar panels or water recycling tanks. While others have less obvious features behind the counter like high efficiency appliances, low-emitting paint and sealants, recycling tampers, and energy efficient HVAC temperature systems.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"621\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/stories.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/image-621x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/image-621x1024.png 621w, https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/image-182x300.png 182w, https:\/\/about.starbucks.com\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2023\/04\/image.png 671w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 621px) 100vw, 621px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the end of 2023 and going forward, Starbucks will build all new stores in LAC under the Greener Stores framework.
